From Liverpool to Jamaica.
Built on passion, friendship, genetics and a love for the plant.
Scouse Genetics Seeds was born from a simple idea: to build something of our own and become part of an industry that we had a genuine passion for.
The story began in 2013, when I was released from prison after serving a full 10-year sentence. Coming out after so many years, I knew I wanted to take my life in a completely different direction. I wanted to build a future, create something positive and turn my passion into a business.
That was when Liverpool Seed Bank was born.
Starting from the ground up, we began supplying genetics from some of the leading breeders in the cannabis world. In those early days, the business was as much about learning as it was about selling seeds. I wanted to understand the industry, understand genetics and, most importantly, understand the people behind it.
Instagram became a huge part of that journey. We were there early, building our name and reputation from 2013 onwards, connecting with breeders, growers and influential people within the cannabis community. What started as a small Liverpool-based operation gradually began reaching people far beyond the UK.
2017
Jamaica changed everything
Our journey took us to Jamaica, and that is where everything really started to change. Through Jamaica and the people we met there, we discovered a completely different side of cannabis culture. Jamaica wasn’t simply another place to grow cannabis — the plant was deeply connected to its history, culture, people and heritage.
One of the most important relationships we built was with my good friend Ruff Genetics. Ruff became more than just a business connection. He became a friend, a mentor and somebody who helped me understand Jamaican cannabis from the inside — its history, its traditional genetics, the importance of preserving its heritage and the knowledge that has been passed down through generations.
Through our work together, I began learning the fundamentals of breeding and eventually produced my first strain. That moment changed everything. What started in 2013 with a seed bank in Liverpool had developed into something much bigger — a genuine passion for creating and preserving genetics of our own.
Jamaica’s emerging legal industry
Our journey also developed alongside Jamaica’s emerging regulated cannabis industry. The Cannabis Licensing Authority (CLA) was established in 2015 under Jamaica’s Dangerous Drugs (Amendment) Act, creating a regulatory framework for the legal cannabis and hemp industry, including medical, therapeutic and scientific applications. The first licences were issued in 2017.
Being around that developing industry gave us an opportunity to learn, build relationships and gain a deeper appreciation for where Jamaican cannabis was heading. It also reinforced something that has remained important to us ever since: respect the plant, respect the culture and respect the people who have carried this knowledge for generations.
From seed bank to genetics company
Since those early days, we haven’t stopped. The relationship between Scouse Genetics and Ruff Genetics has continued to grow, with our work bringing together Liverpool’s attitude and determination with Jamaica’s incredible cannabis heritage.
We’ve gone from distributing other breeders’ seeds to developing our own genetics, our own strains and our own identity. Every project, every cross and every new strain is another chapter in the story.
And we’re still learning. We’re still experimenting. We’re still travelling. We’re still meeting breeders and growers. And most importantly, we’re still building.
The future
Scouse Genetics Seeds isn’t just about selling seeds. It’s about the journey that got us here. It’s about coming out of prison after ten years in 2013 and deciding that the rest of my life was going to be different. It’s about starting a small seed bank in Liverpool and learning an industry from the ground up. It’s about the people who opened doors, shared knowledge and became lifelong friends. It’s about Jamaica, its people, its history and its incredible cannabis heritage. And it’s about the partnership with Ruff Genetics, which helped take Scouse Genetics into a completely new chapter.
From Liverpool to Jamaica, from seed bank to breeder, we’ve come a long way — and we’re nowhere near finished.

We hunt hard
We pop large numbers. Only standout phenotypes make the programme — vigour, structure, aroma, and bag appeal all count.
We lock it before we sell it
Backcross and line-breed until expressions are consistent. You should not have to gamble on what is in the pack.
We tell you the cross
No mystery genetics, no inflated THC. What you see on the label is what is in the pack.
Small batches on purpose
Limited runs mean fresher seed and a germ test on every batch that leaves Liverpool.
