Feminized strains, said plainly

Two females. No XY father. Almost all XX in the pack. What the word actually means, and which Scouse packs use it.

Feminized strains, said plainly — Scouse Genetics

Feminized seed is sold as ‘all female’. Genetically it is simpler than the marketing. A regular pack is a male (XY) on a female (XX). About half the kids get the Y. A feminized pack skips the Y. Pollen comes from a female that has been pushed to make male flowers, then used on another female. Both parents are XX. The offspring are XX. That is the whole trick, said without a recipe. We are not going to write one.

It is not a different species. It is not autoflower. It is not ‘stronger’. THC is a test range, not a sex. Feminized is a sex format: a pack meant to flower as females, not a 50/50 hunt.

What you are buying

Convenience. No true male in the envelope. For a collector who wants six females and no father to keep, that is the product. For a collector who wants to lock a line, backcross, or keep a dad, it is the wrong format. You cannot work a library from a pack that has no XY.

On this shop the female packs are SG Kush, French Cake, Dutch Apple Pie and Watermelon Slushy: 6 female seeds for £50. Same 50% trade sheet as the rest of the list once we approve a wholesale login.

The known risk, without folklore

The stress that made a female shed pollen can sit in the line. Heat, a wet September, a hungry week — that is why some feminized work herms. It is not a curse and it is not guaranteed. It is the known cost of using a female as a father. Regular seed lets a true male carry the work instead.

We still pack feminized where that convenience is the point. We still pack regular where the library is the point. Both sit on the catalogue. Each product page says which.

Do not confuse the words

Feminized is not auto. Autoflower is a different clock — age, not photoperiod. Feminized is not landrace. A landrace population is both sexes in a place. Feminized is not ‘beginner seed’. Beginner is a plant that forgives; that is on the strain page as difficulty, not as a sex.
