Germ tests, not a grow guide

Germination is the seed waking up: water in, coat splits, radicle out. It is botany, not a strain. In the UK, popping a cannabis seed without a Home Office licence is cultivation. The embryo is dry and asleep. Water has to reach it, oxygen has to be there, and it must not cook or rot. That is the whole test. Light, feed, and rooms are later, and later is not this page.

Paper towel or plug

A straightforward paper-towel or plug is enough to know if the seed is alive. That is the method on Contact. If a current-batch seed will not pop that way, email the order number and we replace it. We do not cover a seed left on a radiator. Heat cooks the embryo the same way it cooks a terpene: the living bit is gone.

Regular versus feminized does not change the test. Sex is later. We only pack regular. A Durban Poison Bx2 and a Black Punch are not different germ species. A dead seed is a dead seed.

Why a seed fails

Old stock, a cracked shell, a wet anaerobic towel (rots), a dry one (never imbibes), heat. We germ-test this batch. We cannot test the drawer you store it in. Keep seed cold, dark, and dry — that note is already in Keep seed like you mean it.
